Topman CTRL entry-Katie Amey.

My name’s Katie Amey, i’m 15 years old and live in Essex. I have been volunteering on a local radio station since i was 11. I was the youngest presenter the station had ever taken and myself and my friend undertook the training and were given our first show almost straight away without adult input. It is because of this that i believe i have what it takes to be a new Topman Controller. I have a lively personality, some background experience and a great interest in music to give as well as so much to gain from this oppertunity! Recently my new co-presenter and myself approached the Station Manager proposing that we made a new YouTube centred feature to our show. The feature includes us browsing a wide variety YouTubers and YouTube channels showing talent in music or great and entertaining vlogs, whilst picking one each week to publicize. Working on the local radio for 3 years has made me come on leaps and bounds vocally and though i currently don’t partake in much blog writing, i always have plenty to say. I chose the song ‘Rat Race’ by ‘Skindred’ because it’s been so overplayed on my iPod recently that i felt it needed some serious recognition. The song is lively and makes it SO hard to stay still. Last year, i was amongst few picked to attend and interview local bands at yfest and have access backstage. Of course, though this gig was amazing, it does not compare to attending and interviewing those at Underage.
