Hello, my name is Fern Davidson and I am 15 years old and live in Jarrow in the North East. I chose Swedish House Mafia, Save The World with my friend Jo-Jo because I think Swedish House Mafia have been a huge breakthrough act throughout the past year and will be an amazing act at all festivals this year.
I think that I should be chosen to win the competition because I have a very strong passion for music. I’m in Jarrow steel band and regularly do concerts and shows, this has helped with my confidence, I also love all genres of music and don’t just listen to one. I love rock, indie, dance, house, r&b, pop and love all acts from Florence + The Machine to My Chemical Romance, Frankie and the Heartstrings to Yasmin and Swedish house Mafia. I think that my passion for music is shown through my time in the steel band and my interest in all genres of music.
I would love to be a presenter when I am older and have already had some experience doing interviews for the school newspaper. It would also be a dream come true to interview artists and bands like: Baio from Vampire Weekend; Bombay Bicycle Club; Devlin; Frankie and the Heartstrings; and Spark. I think I would also be good as I am very confident (I know that everyone entering this competition probably is) my confidence has buiilt through me being in the Air Training Corps which I enjoy and love and because of my mam always telling me to be myself.
I think that I would be good to take over the website as I have quite good computing skills and love social networking so would keep it updated.
I would also be good to write a review of the festival as I am good at English and already have some experience writing reviews through my experience on the school newspaper.
I recently went to Evolution Festival in my home town Newcastle and it was great and I would love to experience a festival atomsphere again - especially at Underage Festival with such great acts.
